Natal Plum (Carissa grandiflora) is a small, thorny evergreen subtropical tree which lends itself well to bonsai culture.
It develops white,fragrant flowers and deep red fruit.  It will adapt to a wide range of conditions.
It likes plenty of light, and should get at least four hours of direct sunlight daily.
It needs warmth in winter, and prefers night temperatures of 60 degrees or more, and day temperatures of 68 degrees or more.
It does well indoors, but is more prone to fungus indoors in areas with poor air circulation.
A fan or open window nearby for improved air circulation will reduce the chance of fungus developing.
