| Planning a forest planting? Here are a
few tips to remember.
1)-When using less then ten trees, always use odd numbers. 2)-Pick trees that you would NEVER consider for a single bonsai. The "ugly duckling" makes the best forest tree. Some desireable qualities are:
3)-Pick trees with different sized trunks. 4)-Put the thickest trunks to the front, thinest to the back. It makes the forest look deeper. 5)-Trim the canopy of the forest as if it was a single tree. There are many other points to the creation of a good forest planting. There are, however, few projects that are as rewarding as a good forest planting. Consider trying one. If you need more information, there have been many good articles written about forest plantings. We offer a 1 hour video on forest planting if you would prefer your instruction "live". The main thing is to give it a shot. You'll be glad you did. |
